Lesson 10

Week 10 has arrived!  Take this week to reflect on what you've discovered and think about how you will continue to use the resources.  As always, we look forward to your comments.

I had a lot of fun with this challenge. I found some great searching tools that I will use in my classroom.  A lot of the tools my students will be able to benefit from.

Thanks for this opportunity to explore.

Lesson 8

Sitting Bull, also known as Tatanka Iyotake or Tatanka Iyotanka or Ta-Tanka I-Yotan, was a Native American shaman and leader of the Hunpapa Sioux. He fought against the Crow Indians and was wounded in battle on several occasions. Sitting Bull greatly opposed the encroachment of the white men. He led Sioux and Cheyenne warriors against U.S. soldiers of the 7th Cavalry at the battle of Little Bighorn. After the battle, in which many were killed, Sitting Bull led his tribe into Canada, where they lived until surrendering to U.S. forces. After his capture he toured with Buffalo Bill Cody's Wild West Show. Sitting Bull was killed while resisting arrest for his unwillingness to abandon the traditions of the ritual Ghost Dance, which had been outlawed.

Cartes de visite of the Lincoln family, Lincoln's business card as a lawyer, political cartoons and newspapers from the period of Lincoln's presidency and Lincoln souvenirs and reproductions of the Gettysburg Address.   Found in the New York State Archives.

Paul Revere made a lot of silver items.  When I typed in Sioux a lot of wonderful photographs came up.
I did a search on Monet.  I am getting reading to do a art lesson about Monet, so this has a lot of his work to show the students.  I an art store had a customer who was looking for a certain item by an artist this would be a great resource to find that.

It was very easy to create a web page from CAMIO.
