SIRS Issues Researcher

I liked this tool as well.  This is above what my students would do.  But I found the information valuable for myself.  I like having another place to pull information from.  The database was really neat.  I would be able to pull information from there for my students to use.
I am always on the look out for new search tools for students to find new information.

SIRS Discoverer- Lesson 3

This is a great source of information.  I loved the maps.  This will be great when I am talking to my students about landforms and where to find them.  My students love to use research tools so this is a great addition.

Lesson 2

I took one of the test on synomyns.  I really liked it and I think this will be useful in my class.  I added Culinary Arts to my center.  The document was 187 pages long.  It did have everything you need to know on how to become a chef.  There was a lot of good information.  Searching through various skills I found about everything I searched for.  The information this source provides is very useful.  I do planning to have my students complete some of the test.

Lesson 1A

Koala
A koala <<koh AH luh>> is a small animal found in Australia. It is sometimes called a bear, but it is not really a bear. Koalas are marsupial <<mahr SOO pee uhl>> mammals. The young koala, called a joey, is carried in a pouch on its mother's belly, and it drinks its mother's milk.

SD Library Challenge: Electronic Resources Challenge Winter Edition

I started lesson 1a and had a bit of trouble trying to do a search.  I was able to and found it very friendly once I got to the right spot.
