
A koala <<koh AH luh>> is a small animal found in Australia. It is sometimes called a bear, but it is not really a bear. Koalas are marsupial <<mahr SOO pee uhl>> mammals. The young koala, called a joey, is carried in a pouch on its mother's belly, and it drinks its mother's milk.
